Naked 2 Palatte and England Avalon Nail Polish Review

Last month, the gorgeous Leticia over at Cosmetics Aficionado hosted a giveaway with a Naked 2 palette on the line. I absolutely love Leticia’s blog, it was one of the first I started following when I started  my journey through the cosmetic world. Thanks to her, I have learned so much! I have always lusted Urban Decay’s Naked palettes but couldn’t bring myself to buy another palette, not when I have *so many* already on my counter. (Yes, I know, I’m using logic!) So when Leticia launched her Naked 2 palette giveaway, I decided to give it a shot. What do I have to lose right?

Well, I won! When I saw her email in my inbox, I jumped around the room, quite literally! The palette arrived yesterday and I am just overwhelmed with which one to start with, I simply can’t wait to play with this wonderful palette. Leticia, in all her wonderfulness, also sent along a extra special gift; a bottle of England nail polish in Avalon.

I am so in love with this color! It is my all time fave shade of purple and it applies like a dream! I’ve never used this particular brand before but I will have to add more to my collection. I absolutely love it!!

England in Avalon

Thank you Leticia! I am so in love right now!!

If you have not checked out her blog, I highly recommend it and you can also check out her current giveaway

FOTD – Sept 16, 2012

This is actually a day old but I just got around to writing it up.

A friend had mentioned that all my pics had my hair pulled back, they wanted to see at least one with my hair down so that was the main feature of this FOTD.

Jouer Luminizing Moisturing Tint in Bronze
Becca Eye Tint – all over eye lid used as primer
MAC Dazzlelight eye shadow –  all over eye lid
MAC Twilight Falls eye shadow – outer half of eye lid, blended in
MAC Mystery eye shadow – Outer V blended into the crease as well as applied wet as eye liner
Maybelline Falsies Flared Mascara
Lip Balm used on lips

I am starting to feel like I need to start playing with blush now that I have a fairly comfortable hand with my eye shadow. I’ve never played with it before so I am not sure where to start so this should be interesting. 😀

Zen Society Product Reviews

In late August, MUT staffers were asked to reach out to Kaitlyn at Zen Society to test products and give feedback. After a brief chat with her, I received the ZS Coconut Lip Balm and ZS Make Up Remover.

I was in the market for a new make up remover and I am always in need of lip balm so I was pretty excited to try these out.

Zen Society Make Up Remover

Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil*, Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil* *USDA Certified Organic (100% of the ingredients used in this product are USDA Certified Organic) Gluten and GMO Free. 100% Vegan. Cruelty Free

Product Description

Infused with Organic Sweet Almond and Hemp Seed Oil. Hemp is a very useful, eco-friendly resource and is extremely effective in skincare due to its high linolenic acid content – natural essential fatty acids known as the omegas. Hemp, Sunflower and Sweet Almond moisturize and heal the skin for natural vitality. Sweet Almond and Hemp are natural hair growth stimulants that can help maintain and grow beautiful lashes.

2 oz/ 59 ml – $10.00

The make up remover is my favorite product of the two I received. A couple drops on a tissue paper or cotton ball takes care of all my eye make up. Best of all, any excess oil is easily absorbed into the skin, leaving it feel moisturized and soft. I have a great time putting my make up on and as cheesy as this sounds, I have a good time taking it off as well. 😀

Zen Society Coconut Lip Balm

Sunflower Oil*, Carnauba Wax, Jojoba Oil*, Organic Flavor, Vitamin E, Rosemary Extract *Organic (Non-GMO, Petrolatum Free, Gluten Free) 100% Vegan. 99% Organic

Product Description

Soothe your lips without harsh petroleum or synthetic fragrances. Our rich, emollient blend of oils protect and promote the healing of sore, chapped lips. We use organic aromatic essential oils to add a pleasant fragrance and long lasting taste*.

0.15 oz/4.25g $5.00

I am a lip balm fiend! FIEND, I tell you, I burn through it like crazy so I know what I like and I know what doesn’t work for me. Unfortunately, this lip balm didn’t work for me. I was constantly having to apply it and even then, I felt my lips were dry. I was having to apply it upwards of 4 – 5 times an hour to find any relief and even then it was minimal at best. I also didn’t feel like it really absorbed into my skin at all, even when I rubbed it in, just coated my lips which was not a pleasant feeling. The good points however is that it smelled wonderful and didn’t have a bad/waxy taste to it.

*applies to Spearmint and Pomegranate as the Coconut did not have much of a taste

So I would highly recommend the eye make up remover but would give precaution to the lip balm. Many thanks to Zen Society for the opportunity to try out their wonderful items and give my opinion on them.

Color Club Age of Aquarius Nail Polish Review

Back in March, I received a sample bottle of Color Club’s Age of Aquarius. It is SUCH a vibrant color, perfect for the summer and I loved it. At the time, I didn’t swatch it because my nails were in a really sorry state and would not showcase the polish as well as it should.

Thankfully, that is no longer the case and so here we go!

Color Club “Age of Aquarius”

Did I mention bright? This is certainly a grab your attention color and I adore it! It was certainly easy to work with and while it does have a strong “nail polish” scent, it didn’t bother me too terribly much.

Color Club has a vast collection and supports not GLAAD but also supports Leaping Bunny, Autism Speaks Research and Ovarian Cancer Research. You can shop their website to see all the great colors they have!
