Merry Christmas! (a day late!)

Life has been really interesting on this side of the screen but at least it hasn’t been all bad.

My friend who I have been staying with surprised me with one of my fave bath scents from Bath and Bodyworks along with a couple bars of my fave candy!

From my ex, I got a gift card to Starbucks and a couple bars of my all time fave candy (which is really hard to find!) and a present showed up for me with no name or card so it was a true Santa gift! I have been flipping through it and it looks AWESOME!

All in all, it was a pretty good Christmas. I hope yours was as well!

Total Nail Transformation Challenge – Week Seven

The holidays are wrecking havoc with my blog writing! I am still living with my friend who had surgery, she has had a really rough go of it the past couple of days but we still have a positive outlook that things will be better soon. Because of this, I have kept my nails fairly cut back so as not to scratch her when I am changing dressings and the like.

Even with that though, my cuticles are looking nice and healthy, not hang nails to speak off and with the skin conditioning milk, my hands are always feeling nice and soft.

Instagram hit with class action lawsuit

I’ve been waiting to see what the fallout was going to be. Took longer than I expected but the first class action lawsuit has been issued.

Instagram says it now has the right to sell your photos

In its first big policy shift since Facebook bought the photo-sharing site, Instagram claims the right to sell users’ photos without payment or notification. Oh, and there’s no way to opt out.

Article here

Apparently the only real way to opt out is to cancel your account before January. I am on the fence, it’s not like I really use my Instagram that much for photos but I also don’t want my photos to be used without my permission.

This sucks.

Playing with Yarn

While I am sitting with a friend recouping from surgery, I needed something to do with my hands that was portable as well as easy to pick up and put down as needed.

So I broke out some yarn and crochet needles. Overnight, I made myself a new scarf. It’s the first time I’ve ever made an infinity scarf and I just love not only how easy it was to make but how cute it looks.

I found the pattern on Ravelry and while the original pattern was for 20 rows of mesh, I only ended up doing about 9. In a Texas “winter”, it’s about perfect. I can see adding a few of these to my collection quite easily.

Total Nail Transformation Challenge – Week Six

This has not been a good week on my hands.

I have temporarily located to a friend’s house to take care of her while she recups from surgery. In my wonderful forgetfulness, I forgot my Tips for Toes nail care. Along with some clothes I needed. Cause I am just that good. :/

What a difference! My cuticles are looking pretty ragged. Thankfully I will be meeting up with my housemate this weekend to bring me everything I forgot and I can continue my challenge!

Total Nail Transformation Challenge – Week Five

The past week has been pretty brutal on my hands. Not only have I been doing alot of cooking and baking the past few days but I am also in the process of doing a pre-move purge. So my hands are either in constant contact with water or boxes. Even with that though, my hands still don’t look anywhere as bad as they have in the past. The Tips for Toes have kept my nails in check and the skin conditioning milk has kept my hands from feeling like sandpaper.

I did lose the length on my thumbnail this past week. If you look in the post from last week, you can see a crack forming which was caused by my own stupidity and slamming  my hand into the side of the bed. Fun times, let me tell you! But with the exception of that loss, my nails are growing back remarkably well, the skin is looking and feeling quite nice and I have noticed a considerable difference in the nail quality itself. My nails no longer bend and most importantly, they don’t peel constantly.

That alone is a win for me!!
