Comfort Food

The camping trip this past weekend was incredibly cold (30’s) and wet. So, of course, I came home with a cold.

So I have turned to my comfort food to help feel better while it runs its course. Tomato soup and grilled cheese!

What is your comfort food?

Meaningful Beauty Crème de Serum VoxBox

My VoxBox came in last week but with the camping trip prep, I completely spaced on posting about it!

With all the cold and wet during the camping trip, my skin was a wreck. It was incredibly dry, chapped and just in overall poor shape. After I got cleaned up, I put it on and could feel a noticeable difference immediately. I put it on today and my skin continues to feel better. Which is probably the lone highlight of today since not only did I come back with my skin a disaster, I also came home incredibly sick. 😦

Anyways, if you would like to learn more about the Crème de Serum, check it out here:,default,pg.html
If you would like to purchase Meaningful Beauty, check it out here:,default,pg.html

I received Meaningful Beauty Crème de Serum complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Evie the Feline

This is Evie.

She has got to be one of the most drama filled but sweetest kitty I’ve ever lived with.

She is the SO’s cat but seems to have accepted me. She won the war with Layla and Vincent on who gets to sleep on me during the night so now Layla sleeps on the couch and Vincent sleeps at my feet.

Evie has a vicious scream. It’s something I have recently found out with a new behavior that has developed in regards to how she deals with Vincent. The two do not get along and for the first couple weeks, fought a good bit. Vincent was usually the antagonist so I would reprimand him when I heard Evie screaming. This apparently has given the idea that if she screams, Vincent gets punished. So nowadays, Vincent can just be walking through the room and Evie will start screaming. Never mind the fact that she is clear across the room!

The first time I caught her doing this, I thought maybe it was just coincidence but the second time, I clued in on what was happening and ignored it. A couple days ago, I was in the kitchen with Vincent (the eternal optimist that I’ll drop something yummy) and Evie was in the dining room. Vincent was following me around the kitchen and happened to walk past Evie, who immediately started screaming.

The look Vincent gave her was hilarious, it practically shouted “Oh shut up already!”. He looked at me to see if I was going to do anything and I simply walked away. He wasn’t doing anything and Evie was being a brat. She screamed at him again and Vincent had had enough, he charged her.

This sent Evie running into the bedroom and Vincent gave a half hearted chase before coming back into the kitchen looking for dropped morsels.

Welcome to my life.

Embroidery Project – Autumn Owl Update

We have been really busy getting ready for a camping trip and so I have had to grab stitch time when I could, which means I didn’t get that much done. However, progress is progress, right?

Since I want this to be a cup cover when I am at SCA events, I wanted to add some weight to the corners so it doesn’t blow off in a breeze. Given that this is an owl, I decided to go with a star.

There will be two stars on each corner along with a couple beads in order to add weight. All in all, I think it will be quite pretty once it’s all done.
