We decided to go with the artificial tree this year since we already had it and funds are a bit thin. Next year though, we get a real one!
We waited until the housemate had his son visiting and then we decorated it. So much fun!
Even Sweet Pea approves! It’s his new napping spot. 😀
I love wreaths. They just add a little something to Christmas decor that makes me smile.
I wanted something different this year and it had been quite some time since I made my own. Nothing on Pinterest was really capturing my attention and most of the ones in stores were way too glittery for my tastes. So I started playing in my fabric stash to see what I could find!
Remember this dress from last year and my overcoming the fear of working with fur?
Well guess what I came across?
Yep, the rest of that fur and an idea hit me! A fur wreath! That would be so cool! So off to JoAnn’s I go to pick up a few times and look for more inspiration.
Once I got everything home, I fell on it like a mad woman! Fur and glue *everywhere*! Lots of yelling too since hot glue is hot!
Worked that one out all by my lonesome!
A couple hours later and Voila!
My new wreath. 🙂 I love it!
Thanksgiving was so much fun here. We had our friend, Becca, over and it was just a weekend full of laughter. There are so many things to talk about but for now, I want to narrow it down to just Sweet Pea.
Man, he was ON for Thanksgiving. Not that I could blame him, from the moment I started cooking, the house just smelled fantastic. Sweet Pea is very seldom heard from, content to lay in an empty human bed and asleep. He is an old man after all, that and food time is all he is really interested in these days.
However, as soon as the turkey started emitting it’s wonderful aroma, he was in the kitchen, keeping tabs on everything. Once the timer went off, Sweet Pea ran over to let me know. He was being so persistent, I managed to get an action shot.
Then came the carving of the turkey.
He never moved from the spot until we finally succumbed to the silent pleading and gave him a couple of pieces. Once that was done, he was content and off he went for his long overdue nap
Have you really paid attention to the cost of laundry soap? I have to be honest, I haven’t been. It was something we needed, so I bought it.
That is until a few weeks back when we ran out before the budget replenished. With all the Christmas spending, money is running a little tighter than normal so I had to check prices. Wow! I was blown away!
It really is just that simple. The soap comes out pretty watery than what I am used to but I noticed a remarkable difference in my towels in just the first washing. There were SO much fluffier and softer to the touch.
The whole thing cost me maybe $10 but I had the Borax already so if you go this route, it may be a tad higher.
I’m still looking for a cute bucket to put mine in but since the laundry room will be getting a make over here sometime soon, I am waiting to see what I finally decide on before getting anything to go into it.
If you have used this or make this, I would love to hear your experiences!
